R.I.P. Zlato

On Tuesday night, we said goodbye to dear Zlato. Zlato was an integral member Jelena Behrend Studio team and beloved companion of Jelena and Ruta Behrend. Zlato lived a long and beautiful 16 years. Although the last couple of days were difficult, she was a happy and healthy dog until the very end. We were so lucky to have known such a creature, and so incredibly sad to see her go, so sad that we are at a loss for words.
In case you didn't already know, zlato means gold in Jelena Behrend's native language, Serbian, and Zlato was pure gold. Having an animal is one of the most enriching experiences in life, and Zlato taught us so much. There are animals in need of loving homes in shelters everywhere, we ask you to do what you can to help them!
Rest in peace, Zlato. We love you so very much.

I am saddnened to hear about your loss. I too have had this experience and so I will say I can empathize. You are correct when you say that having a pet to share time with is a special learning experience. I am sure you will get to a place of remembering all of the great things having your baby did for your lives.
