Today is NYC Pride, and I’ve been thinking about what it means to wear who we are.
When I started my own studio, I never thought of it as “woman-owned” or “gay-owned”—though both are true. It was never about fitting into a category. It was built around the idea that jewelry could carry identity, whatever that identity may be, without needing to explain it.
I’m someone moving through life with a need to love freely, to create, and to shape beauty from what I feel and see. My studio carries on because of that impulse and it welcomes anyone who shares that spirit. Every piece I make is touched by identity—mine, yours, and the places where they meet. It’s a kind of quiet, subtle declaration of self.
Embrace yourself,
Jelena
